Accident Closes Hwy 20 at Dow Rd.

Highway 20 is closed east of Nevada City at Dow Road due to an accident that knocked live electrical wires across the roadway.  CHP Officer Justin Barnthouse says the roads were icy when the accident occurred around 7 o’clock this morning.

A detour has been set up on Willow Valley Road between Highway 20 and Nevada City.

Officer Barnthouse says there have been several spin outs on icy spots on the roads in town as well.

The CHP had accidents reported on Dog Bar Rd., Bittney Springs Rd., Ridge Rd. and Brusnwick near Loma Rica Roads.   No injuries were reported.
