Accident May Have Been Result of Medical Condition

A driver who appears to have suffered a medical seizure drove his black SUV onto the sidewalk in downtown Grass Valley Saturday afternoon. Sgt. Clint Bates says several citizens in the area were able to restrain the man until medical help could arrive.

A woman on the sidewalk came within two feet of being struck by the vehicle. Sgt. Bates says the SUV was finally stopped when it also ran into a brick planter box near the clock tower. The driver was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for treatment.
