Accident on Hwy 20/49 Injures both drivers

An injury accident that happened on Highway 49 at Highway 20 Last (Thursday) evening around 5:30 pm is being investigated by the Nevada City Police .

Typically accidents on state highways fall under CHP investigation. Nevada City Police Sgt. Chad Ellis says the accident involved a silver Hyundai Elantra and a white Ford Fusion. Both vehicles had major damage in the accident and air bags deployed on impact. Identity of the two drivers involved has not been released but one person was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

One person was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
