Accidents and Spinouts From Snow Showers

Unexpectedly heavy snow showers caused a number of traffic problems in the Grass Valley-Nevada City area Tuesday morning. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says there were a number of non-injury accidents, including many spinouts. Brunswick Road was one particularly treacherous area, including what Tassone called the “usual spots”: up the hill toward Loma Rica Road…by Idaho-Maryland Road…and between Greenhorn and Burma Roads…

Tassone says those stretches of Brunswick Road had to be closed for a while. He says another problem spot was on Highway 174 near the Cedar Ridge wye where Brunswick Road connects. North Bloomfield road was also closed for a period of time a few miles before the Edwards River Crossing…

A two-vehicle crash was also reported on Highway 49 at Alta Sierra Drive. But, again, Tassone says there were no injuries of note from the collisions and spinouts.
