Accused Embezzler Convicted For Failure To Appear

Newell says Huni is scheduled to be sentenced on August 8th, with another jury trial still tentatively scheduled regarding the embezzlement case, on August 16th, unless a plea agreement can be worked out…

Huni had taken a plea agreement about a year ago, in return for a potential one-year jail sentence and five years probation. Sentencing was postponed after she failed to report to probation. A few months later, she withdrew her plea, over alternative sentencing issues.
