Accused Fatal Hit and Run Suspect Defers Plea

An 18-year-old Grass Valley girl accused in the hit and run death of a skateboarder over Halloween weekend has made another appearance in a Nevada County courtroom. Madison Felhaber was scheduled to enter a plea, but that was deferred to next Friday. District Attorney Jesse Wilson says that’s not unusual in such cases…

The CHP says Felhaber was driving on Alta Street, near Dolores Drive, when, for still-unknown reasons, she struck the skateboarder, 15-year-old Pasley Woodard, also from Grass Valley. Felhaber reportedly fled the scene. But she later turned herself in. Wilson declined to say whether Felhaber has any prior arrests or driving offenses…

There was one other person inside the vehicle, who, like Felhaber, was not injured. Whether she was driving under the influence has also not been released. But it’s not reflected in the charges at this point.
