Affordable Housing Progress Film Unveiled

Last week, Nevada County Supervisor Sue Hoek shared some holiday cheer. Residents of the new Lone Oak Senior Apartments in Penn Valley received a special film update on affordable housing progress over the last few years. It featured comments from one of the residents. The project is in Hoek’s district. Housing and Community Services Director Mike Dent says since 2017 a total of 301 new units have been in planning, active construction, or completed…

Dent says other projects highlighted include Brunswick Commons in Grass Valley, Cashin’s Field in Nevada City, among eight developments. Dent says notable progress has been made in accomodating the high-percentage of older citizens…

And by January, Dent says 69 additional units will be completed. The video is also live on the county’s Facebook page, as well as on You Tube.
