They have not been involved in any of the fires in southern California, except to be a backup at a base down there while those planes were busy. The base at Nevada County Air Park was scheduled to open around June 15th, and that’s what they did–slightly ahead of schedule…
Sjolund says there are 13 people staffed at the base at any given time.
