Air Attack Base to Open “On Time”

Thanks to some wet weather this winter, fire officials at the Grass Valley Air Attack Base are hoping that this fire season will be more of a “normal” one. Last year at this time, the base had already been operational for about two weeks, which is highly unusual. However, if the need arises, Sjolund says the base could become operational at virtually a moment’s notice…

The contract period is from June 15th to October 15th, but again, conditions can change that date. The base opened on April 20th last year.
