Alcohol Potential Factor in La Barr Meadows Collision

Alcohol was likely the cause in a rear-end collision on Highway 49 near La Barr Meadows Road.  The accident happened during road construction, around 10 o’clock last night. The construction crews were using a pilot car to escort traffic. C-H-P Officer Steve Ingram says a 57 year-old Grass Valley woman was following the pilot car when all the cars came to a stop except one driver.

The driver of the Plymouth was determined to be driving under the influence. He was treated at Sierra Nevada Hospital and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility, for suspicion of drunk driving. The driver of the Lincoln was not injured.
