Alcohol Stings Catch Businesses Selling to Minors

A number of arrests, and citations were issued to businesses or individuals in Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Truckee involving alcohol related offenses. Friday evening all police, sheriff, Alcohol Beverage Control, and probation officers throughout Nevada County were part of three major sting operations.

Sheriff Keith Royal says the operations, funded through a grant from the Alcohol Beverage Control agency, led to 8 arrests mostly for driving under the influence and one narcotic arrest. The citations were for a variety of reasons.

Royal says sting operations such as this weekends events take place several times a year.
