The American Association of University Women present an educational fundraiser this Sunday at the North Star House titled all about Unique Women. The Fatefull 40’s, The Decade that Changed Everything….AAUW member Laurie Alire says it was a pivotal point in history for women.

The program will include entertainment reminiscent of the 40’s as well as an authentic 1940’s Fashion Show, organized by Cherie Oliver who has amassed a collection of over 2-thousand pieces of vintage clothing dating back to the 1840’s…

There will also be some cars from the period on display, along with Design Trends of the decade and music and dance.

There will also be food available for purchase and Chacewater wines. The fundraiser supports scholarships that AAUW gives to High School and Junior College women going on to higher education, and also supports a summer camp that introduces young girls to the fields of Science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
