Alleged Auburn Kidnapping Case Closed

Case solved in alleged kidnapping attempt in Auburn. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office was seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 4-year-old boy from the Dollar Tree store in north Auburn on Wednesday evening. Public Information Officer Dena Erwin tells KNCO the incident was a timing issue and a misinterpretation of activity.

Erwin says good detective work led to the resolution of the issue.

Fortunately the man’s name was unknown so it was never released to the media.
