Alleged Neglect Leads to Murder Charge in Truckee

An 88 year old Truckee woman apparently passed away as the result of lack of care. Tuesday evening just after 8:00 Truckee police were dispatched to a Martis Valley Road Apartment complex regarding a deceased person. Upon arrival, Captain Rob Leftwich says officers confirmed the 88 year old woman was deceased.

Jenkins,-David1The woman’s son, David Jenkins age 61, was living with her in the apartment and both had been in the Truckee area for about a year. It does not appear the woman was under the care of a physician or Home Hospice. As a result of the initial investigation, Jenkins was arrested on two felony counts, murder in the second degree and elder abuse.
