This storm is over, and now the numbers are in. The National Weather Service says this area received 14.8 inches of rain, boosting the total for the rainy season, which officially began October 1st, to 46.8 inches. That’s 205 percent of normal for this time of year and is also just 9 inches shy of the entire total for the 2016-16 season, which was 55.6 inches. Meanwhile, the statewide snowpack has also seen a major recovery, at 163 percent of normal. Just 10 days ago, it was 67 percent. The Northern Sierra has improved from 68 to 132 percent. Also, storage at Shasta Dam is now at 129 percent of average, it’s 126 percent at Oroville Dam.
