Whether it was part of a New Year’s resolution- or just out for fun- 185 runners and walkers participated in the second annual Resolve 2 Run 5K and 10K events in Chicago Park early New Year’s morning. Event Coordinator, Hannah Bousfield, says she was hoping for a big turnout.

Last year about 90 runners participated and the funds raised by the race went to Chicago Park 4H, Chicago Park School, and The Chicago Park Fire department.

Bousfield’s goal is to continue to grow the Resolve 2 Run and hopefully become part of the Gold Country Grand Prix Series.

Gene Gilligan is the secretary for the Grand Prix Series and Race Director for the Daffodil Run in the spring, was at the event to evaluate the possibility of it becoming part of the Grand Prix.*

Regardless of their resolutions, all of the runners showed great “resolve 2 run” by getting up early on New Year’s Day.
