Alta Sierra Fire Destroys Garage

The home was saved, a wildfire was prevented, but a garage was destroyed. The Nevada County Consolidated Fire Department received a call last night of a structure fire in Alta Sierra. Division Chief Jerry Funk says they got the call around 8:50 last night (Monday), at a home in the 14-thousand block of Brewer Road…

Funk says they were able to get a hose line in between the garage and the house to save the residence, and also were able to quickly put the vegetation fire out…

There were two vehicles and a boat in the garage that were destroyed. The house is fine except for a couple of burned out windows. No estimated value of the damage is available. No one was hurt. The cause is still under investigation.
