Alta Sierra Homicide Victim ID’d

Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says the next of kin have now been notified in the homicide that was discovered at an Alta Sierra home on Monday April 3rd.

The victim has also been identified as Scott William Cox, 60 years of age. Cox was believed to have been a resident at the home where his remains were found.

The Sheriff says a second search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence yesterday and further items of evidence were removed.

The Sheriff says a person of interest has been identified,  but no arrest has been made as of this time. The Sheriff says more information will be released when it becomes available.
