Ambulance Involved Accident

A Sierra Nevada Hospital Ambulance was responding with red lights and siren when it was hit by a pickup trying not to rear end slower traffic. Officer Barnthouse says the accident happened on Highway 49 near Lime Kiln Road at one in the afternoon. The Ambulance was responding to a medical call when a 21 year old man from Carmichael driving a 1996 Toyota Tacoma pickup did not see the cars in front of him slowing until it was too late.

Neither driver suffered serious injury in the accident. A second ambulance was sent to the medical call.  The ambulance crew was seen at Sierra Nevada Hospital as a precaution., The accident remains under investigation.
