American Fire-Friday Update

The American Fire is still pumping out lots of smoke and it has grown in size.  American Fire Information Officer Mark Brown has an update.

Today the big  C-130 tankers  are being used on the fire,  and a mobile retardant batch plant is now operational at the airport in Blue Canyon, ready to load up helicopter buckets with retardant.  6 helicopters are assigned to the fire today.
One structure was lost yesterday, a 100 year old mining building that was part of the old Pacific Mine on the south end of the fire.
