And the Beat Goes On At Nevada Union

The beat goes on at Nevada Union High School. Over the weekend the Nevada Union High School Winter Percussion Group and Color Guard competed in the second to last competition of the season at Elk Grove High School. Band Director, Ken Carter says the groups did well competing against a number of schools throughout Northern California.

The drumline finished 4th at Elk Grove. Carter says that one more week of rehearsal takes the two groups to Del Oro High School for the Northern California High School Championships and he feels both the drumline and color guard will continue to grow.

Carter says another highlight of the Elk Grove competition and next week’s Championship shows is watching NU Alumni perform on the Sacramento State Squads. Former NU drummers Trevor Hall and Ryne Haas perform in the drumline and dancer Kelly DuFour is on the Sac State Color Guard.
Next week the NorCal Championships are all day Saturday at Del Oro High School.
