It usually happens each year around this time. Gold Country Stage makes mostly modest service adjustments for the new fiscal year. Transit Services Manager Susan Healy-Harman says that includes the elimination of some Route 3 stops on Race Street in Grass Valley, due to lack of use, and the addition of a regular hourly stop on Bennett and Ophir Streets. They’re also adding 3 more on-demand stops, which are not hourly, at least initially, to see how much they’re used. Harman says that includes on Union Jack Street at the new Gold Country Village senior apartment complex. Harman says the second on-demand stop will be offered up to 3 times a day on Route 1, at Spirit House, on Gates Place, in Grass Valley, with the third one on Route 4, at the Outpatient/Oncology building at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She says this type of service has been working well…

Harman also points out that the changes come at no additional cost. They’re based on the annual unmet transit needs meeting, as well as feedback Gold Country Stage received througout the year. The adjustments take effect on Tuesday, July 5th.
