Annual State of the Yuba At Peace Lutheran Church

With Earth Day on Saturday, it’s also time for the annual State of the Yuba event, which is Wednesday evening (April 19). The South Yuba River Citizens League invites the community to celebrate the river and get updates on restoration and preservation efforts. Community Engagement Manager Jenn Tamo says it starts with an Open House, from 5 to 6, in which attendees will have an opportunity to meet staff and mingle with river lovers. Tamo says last year more than 1,300 volunteers donated nearly 10,000 hours to help with efforts like water quality monitoring, invasive species removal, river stewardship, climate change research, and watchdogging the proposal to build Centennial Dam, which SYRCL opposes…

Tamo says three distinguished guests will also be honored for their service in helping to protect the Yuba watershed. The State of the Yuba is from 5 to 8:30 tomorrow (Wed.) evening at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley.
