West says public safey is another concern, especially fire protection. She says, with the longer dry seasons, she wants to make sure Nevada County has the proper resources in place and that prevention programs are developed effectively with residents. District One Supervisor Nate Beason recently announced that he was not running for a fourth term. Heidi Hall was the first announced challenger. There are three open seats on the board, which are up for election in June of next year.
