For the third straight month, the Nevada Irrigation District has at least met the state’s maximum water conservation mandate. And for the first time, in Operations Manager Chip Close says they exceeded the mandate, saving 38-percent in August, compared to 2013. That’s two-percent higher than June and July…
Close says the District also continues to reduce a major amount of irrigation water…
Meanwhile, NID reservoir storage is still near average levels for this time of year, or 84-percent. The District is now projecting it will end the 2015 irrigation season with more than 110-thousand acre-feet of carryover storage for next year, equal to about 45-percent of their storage capacity.
