I’ve been at the fair the past two mornings, and for many mornings over the past 8 years for KNCO.  Not only is it cooler, I like being there for the daily opening ceremonies.

I have been involved in many, too many to count really, places where the National Anthem has been played.  All manner of sporting or other events, as a spectator, as an official, as a participant.  The Nevada County Fair opens every morning at 10 with a different person preforming the Anthem.  I gotta say I am always pleased to see people stopping dead in their tracks, look for a flag to salute, and stand still and either singing along or being quiet.

It’s nice to see the Nations Color’s respected!
