Another Drop In Nevada County’s Jobless Rate

Nevada County’s unemployment rate took a slight drop in September. At 4.6%, that’s down two-tenths of a point from August, as well as a year ago. It’s also a decline of half-a-point from July. And it’s nothing unusual, according to EDD spokesman Luis Allejo…

The civilian labor force dropped by 440 people, with civilian employment dropping by 330. Allejo says the stagnant numbers won’t likely change, unless there’s a dramatic change in jobs available, such as a large, new company locating here….

The sector with the biggest percentage gain was Wholesale Trade. The biggest percentage drop was Leisure and Hospitality jobs. Meanwhile, the county’s jobless ranking improved from 13th to 12th lowest, among the state’s 58 counties.
