Another seasonal rise in Nevada County’s unemployment rate. At 4.6% for July, it’s up three-tenths of a point from June. But Luis Allejo, with the State Employment Development Department, says one notable bright spot was 340 more jobs, from the month before, in the Leisure and Hospitality sector. Allejo says examples of Leisure and Hospitality jobs include in recreation businesses and restaurants, as well as in the arts. There was also a significant increase, of 90 jobs, in a sector that’s only called Other Services…

There was also an increase of 40 jobs in the Retail Trade sector, althougth there was a 90 job increase in June. The July jobless rate is also nearly half-a-point lower than a year ago. And, for the second straight month, Nevada County has the 12th lowest rate among the state’s 58 counties.
