Another Slight Rise In Nevada Co Unemployment

There was very little change in Nevada County’s unemployment rate in August, compared to July. Luis Allejo, with the Employment Development Department, says it was slightly up, from 4.6% to 4.7%, continuing a gradual climb this summer. But Allejo says there were 320 additional civilian jobs…

The biggest drop in employment was also seasonal, or 130 jobs in the Leisure and Hospitality sector, which includes recreation and tourism-related jobs. Nevada County had the 14th lowest rate among the state’s 58 counties, compared to 12th in July.
