Another Station Closure Event For Higgins District

If you missed the first event, a month ago, regarding Higgins Fire District station closures and staff cuts coming up this summer, the next one is on Saturday. Public Information Officer Pete Marchinek says this one is at the McCourtney Road station, which will be only be open during wildfire season..

The Higgins fire station on Morning Sun Road, is closing for good, starting July first, when the layoffs are also implemented. Only the Combie Road station will stay open year-round. Higgins officials will also be issuing burn permits and giving equipment presentations and presentations. Free barbecued hot dogs will also be a available. That’s from 11am to 2pm Saturday at the Higgins McCourtney Road Station. And there is one more event, with more activities and more community-wide, that will be happening April 23rd, at the Combie Road station.
