Not that we needed one, but Sunday’s Dog Fire, on the south edge of Grass Valley off LaBarr and McKnight, really shows just how dry everything is for this time of year. Incredibly quick work by Air Attack and ground crews kept that fire, as well as another off Running Springs Road at the same time, from getting out of hand. Please be careful with those weed eating and mowing chores and do those very early in the morning if possible. And for you yard-salers out there, please be careful parking your car in the rural parts of the county. Turns out the Dog Fire might have been started by a vehicle driving in some dry grass..and the Running Spring Fire from a spark from a mower.
