Another Wrong Way Driver Murder Case

Two eerily-similar wrong way driver murder cases have now been filed by the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office. They both occurred in the Truckee CHP jurisdiction, on Interstate 80, in the last three months. In the latest filing, 43-year-old Sarah Lupyak, of Truckee, has been charged with murder, along with manslaughter while driving under the influence. The crash, which occurred after midnight in September, west of Highway 89 North, killed 67-year-old John Skowronek, from the town of Verdi in the state of Nevada. That was in August of 2016, but no other details were available. Earlier this month, 32-year-old Michael Kelley, of Antelope, was arrested for murder regarding a wrong-way driving crash that killed four family members from North Highlands on Thanksgiving weekend. Two other vehicles were also struck, causing injuries.
