It’s hard to believe that this Friday night the sounds of high school football will once again ring out!
I attended high school football games from the earliest time I can remember right up to when I graduated. Then started going again when my son was old enough to play.
My parents graduated from the same school my brothers and I all attended. The school (that had no equal, for you we would gladly die) {Sorry, part of the fight song came creeping back to me} was 6 blocks from our house. The stands surrounding the field were made of concrete, and the track the field was actual cinder. Let me tell you, come late October and early November those concrete seats were COLD! As a youngster, I never got home without having about a pound of cinder dust ground into my clothes.
I only hope that everyone that attends any of the games this season have as much fun as I did. I also hope that they all understand that sportsmanship goes beyond the field. Grace in victory or is loss should be the required attitude for everyone attending a game. Good Luck to the players! Good manners to the fans . . . . . . .
