Arrest In Pit Bulls Killing Chickens and a Goat

A Grass Valley woman has been arrested on five felony animal cruelty charges. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says they’d received a call regarding 36-year-old Jolene Mulligan walking down the middle of Squirrel Creek Road Wednesday afternoon, who also appeared to be incapacitated. Around the same time, he says a girl, who lived in the area, called to say that she’d been followed home by Mulligan and her two pit bulls from the school bus stop…

Royal says the family had placed the goat in the coop due to previous fatal attacks from other dogs in the area on some of their animals. He says Mulligan had been initially arrested for being under the influence of drugs. The dogs may need to be euthanized.
