Arrest In Western Gateway Park Sexual Assault

An arrest has been made in a sexual assault that took place at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Department says 31-year-old Christopher Smith of Grass Valley, who was taken into custody in Kings County, has been charged with one count of rape. The victim was an 18-year-old Penn Valley woman who says she became acquainted with Smith at the park that day, on July third.
