Arrest Made After Highway 20 Crash

One arrest has been made after an accident on Highway 20 near the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Highway Patrol Officer James Cornwall says 58 year-old Ronald Beatrez of Rough and Ready was towing a 28-foot trailer with his wife illegally riding inside. Heading westbound just past the Brighton Street overcrossing, he lost control…

Beatrez also was driving on a suspended license. Officials say it took 15 minutes to extricate 58 year-old Mariam Beatrez from the trailer before she was flown to Sutter Roseville. The driver and passenger of the C-R-V are from Sparks, Nevada. The crash happened at 3:40pm yesterday. The roadway was closed for a couple of hours.
