Arrest Made in Auburn Assault

On December 25, 2012 at 7:26 p.m., Auburn Police Department officers responded to the area of 390 Grass Valley Hwy for a report of a physical fight. When officer arrived, they found one male and one female with injuries. The male and female victims identified Ba Shay Jorgenson, 32, a transient from Auburn,  as the person who punched them both in the face while in the process of attempting to take their two sleeping bags. The female victim sustained lacerations to her face requiring stitches to close one of the wounds and was transported to Auburn Faith Hospital by AMR ambulance. The male victim declined treatment on scene. Jorgenson fled the area on foot before officers arrived. Officer Stan Hamelin later located Jorgenson on F Street in the DeWitt center. Jorgenson was taken into custody without incident and booked into Placer County Jail.
