Nevada City Police had some plain clothes officers on a foot detail in downtown Nevada City yesterday. The saturation patrol ran from 1 p.m.  to 8 p.m.  Sgt. Paul Rohde says, first, they witnessed some drug activity on Commercial Street.

24 year old Michael Gaines Clark was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and transportation of a controlled substance, all felonies. The second party was cited with a misdemeanor and released.  Sgt. Rohde says the saturation patrol then went to the  Pioneer Park area.

Sgt. Rohde says the Nevada City Police Department plans to do more of these saturation patrols,  and  future patrols could   include officers from Grass Valley or the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department.
