Nevada County Supervisor Campaigns For Congress

Nevada County Supervisor Robb Tucker is campaigning for Congress, focusing on forest management, rural healthcare reform, and alignment with Trump administration policies.
Nevada County Supervisor Robb Tucker is among numerous candidates in the home stretch of their November election campaigns. He’s had to balance the responsibilities of his first term in office as a Supervisor with his effort to become the county’s new Congressional representative in District Three, replacing Kevin Kiley. Kiley is seeking a new term in the sixth district, after Proposition 50 made District Three more heavily Democratic. That also prompted the incumbent of that district, Democrat Ami Bera, to seek another term in Congress in our district. This is Tucker’s first campaign for Federal office. He’s a Republican and says he’d like to see a shift back to harvesting more timber in national forests as a way to reduce the wildfire danger. But he says there’d need to be de-regulation of the more stringent permitting and environmental requirements that are now in place…
Tucker also says current federal reimbursement policies for healthcare facilities continue to favor larger, urban areas too far above the needs of more financially-struggling rural areas. He also suggests that forgiving loans for medical students who commit to working in hospitals in smaller towns. Meanwhile, Tucker appears to support the Trump Administration’s goals in the conflict with Iran, including keeping it from obtaining nuclear weapon capability. But he would like to see more input from Congress…
Tucker is also largely supportive of
the Administration’s handling of illegal immigrant deportations.
