Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputies took two people into custody in Nevada City last Thursday when Sheriff Keith Royal says the Deputies observed the pair in a vehicle on Coyote Street near Alexander Street.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and approached the  passenger side where Gilbert was sitting. The Sheriff says,  “At first she said she was not Tabatha Gilbert but then said she was.”

Gilbert was removed from the car and handcuffed and deputies took her to the jail where the booking officer discovered a small Tupperware container hidden on her person which contained a small quantity of methamphetamine.

The driver of the car Steven Taylor was also determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance, a violation of his parole,  and he was booked into jail.
