Hospital Reminder of Breast Cancer Awareness

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital is glowing pink this October to remind the community of the critical, life-saving importance of early breast cancer detection and timely treatment.

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one visual reminder is the visual of Sierra Nevada memorial Hospital after sunset and before sunrise each day as the viewable building from the Golden Center Freeway glows in pink. If you have seen it, then you can agree with Chief Medical Officer Dr Tyler Hill, who recently caught a glimpse as he arrived at work before sunrise.

For a number of years, the hospital has provided the beautiful reminder. Dr. Hill says regardless of how many times the message is heard, women still need to take the necessary steps to help prevent or identify the disease. Without detection and treatment, cancers in general are fatal including Breast Cancer.

Waiting only prolongs the issue. Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital will remain bathed in pink throughout the end of the month.
