NevCo Elections Refutes Illegal Voter Claims
NevCo Elections Refutes Illegal Voter Claims

Nevada County officials are reviewing DOJ claims of noncitizens on voter rolls, though local election leaders express confidence that all state and federal laws are being followed.
A federal appeals court has rejected the Trump Administration's unprecedented attempts to force California to set aside some 20-thousand votes of people it claimed were noncitezens. That included only 10 possible people in Nevada County. Before that ruling, Clerk-Recorder Armando Salud-Abriz said, in a statement, that they were confident that state and federal laws were being followed, after investigating the list of the names that had been flagged. California officials, including Governor Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta, have condemned the claims as a political weapon and an attempt to disenfranchise eligible citizens. They also noted that similar federal lists have previously been shown to be inaccurate and unvetted.
