Fire Victims Identified As Father and Son
Fire Victims Identified As Father and Son

Authorities have identified a father and son who died in a Lake of the Pines house fire last August, likely caused by improperly disposed smoking materials and aerosol explosions.
It was a father and son who died in their home fire, just outside of Lake of the Pines last summer. The identities were just recently released, about three months since the blaze occurred, in August. Higgins Fire District Chief Joel Tam says it happened along Rodeo Flat Road…
Tam says it was determined that the explosions came from aerosol cans. The blaze was contained to about 25-percent of the home, and that was where the victims were found, 69-year-old Anthony Ormsby and 30-year-old Ethan Ormsby. Tam says it’s more than likely that the cause of death was linked to toxic smoke inhalation…
Tam also mentions that there was a strong possibility that there was smoking going on in the bedroom, just prior to the fire, and there may have been improper disposal of smoking-related materials. The fire also spread to around a-tenth-of-an-acre of vegetation.
