Royal says the victim managed to get out of the house and call for medical help, as well as the Sheriff’s Department. He says as they were interviewing the victim, a man, whom the victim identified as Carter, drove up. Carter was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and vehicle theft. He also turned out to have been wanted by Texas authorities for parole violation. The victim had a contusion and head injury, as well as a dislocated shoulder.
