Meanwhile, Assembly Republicans are renewing a push for their plan designed to upgrade roads, highways, and bridges around the state, with additional money coming from six existing funds. A special session on transportation priorities has been called by Governor Brown. But Dahle says the governor and legislative democrats want funding to come, partly, from new taxes. The other bill Dahle says is crucial to his district would secure new PG and E contracts for three biomass plants, to keep them open. He says each plant, including one in Susanville, has given 60-day closure notices, which would result in layoffs of hundreds of employees.
