A prominent Nevada County attorney has been injured in a motorcycle crash. California Highway Patrol Officer Greg Tassone says the crash happened around 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon on Ridge Road near Nevada City Highway…
It didn’t, and the motorcycle locked up, causing 64 year-old Stephen Munkelt to lose control of the bike. Tassone says the motorcycle fell on him…
After crawling to the shoulder of the road, several passers-by stopped to help. Munkelt, whose clients include former Nevada County Supervisor Terry Lamphier, two men accused in a beating death on Banner Mountain, and the ‘Yes on S’ medical marijuana initiative, was taken by ambulance to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, and drugs or alcohol do not seem to be a factor.
