Auburn Police Chief Critical Of Early Releases

The arrests of two local teens in three weeks has Auburn’s Police Chief concerned about criminal accountability during the coronavirus emergency. Ryan Kinnan says the 16 and 17-year-olds entered a convenience store earlier this week, grabbed beer and tobacco products, and then tried to flee. But they also ended up assaulting a store clerk who tried to stop them. He says the same pair were recently prosecuted for also burglarizing a local business…

Kinnan says he’s noticed an overall uptick in property crimes, although mainly vehicle break-ins, instead of homes or businesses.
