August is Child Support Awareness Month

They help with finding parents, going to court, and how to enforce or change their child support order. All of their services are free, and they can even help with cases in other counties or states. Ritter says their message is to make the parents as comfortable with their services as possible…

Nevada County takes in about seven million dollars a year in child support services, with a lot of that money going back into the community in the form of food, clothing, housing, and educational expenses. In addition to the Thursday Night Market and the Friday Art Walk, staff will be on site throughout the month at the Family Law Facilitator’s Office-to answer questions and assist in completing child support paperwork.
