Auto Theft Suspect Arrested After Chase

Grass Valley Police have an auto theft suspect in custody after a long foot pursuit that crossed Highway 49 and ended in a creek off of the Brunswick Rd. entrance to southbound Hwy 49. Grass Valley Police Sgt. Brian Blakemore says the vehicle was reported stolen from the Fowler Center parking lot Monday afternoon.

A short time later an acquaintance of the auto theft victim saw the car.

Police engaged in a lengthy foot pursuit , eventually taking 28 year old Jason Gorham into custody. Sgt. Blakemore says Gorham had fled across the southbound off ramp to Highway 49 and went down a steep embankment to a creek below, with officers in pursuit.
