A couple of loose ends to tie up for Nevada City at their City Council meeting tonight. After several delays, the council is expected to re-authorize the use of 534 Spring Street as a Bed and Breakfast…
City Manager Mark Prestwich says public comment will be taken on what has become a controversial issue. Another item on the agenda is a policy on holiday lighting. The smaller, temporary lights have also resulted in some heated debate, but Prestwich says this has to do with lights on the rooftops of buildings in the Historic District…
The council is expected to allow the use of those lights only between November 15 and January 15.
Also, Prestwich told KNCO that Nevada City has officially received the letter from the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District, notifying the city that the fire district will terminate staffing of Nevada City Fire Station 54 in six months. That letter will likely be read at the meeting tonight, but no action will be taken on it.
